Dr Peter Mpasho Mwamtobe is the Head of Applied Studies in the School of Malawi Institute of Technology at the Malawi University of Science and Technology.

He holds PhD and MSc in Mathematical Epidemiology from University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in South Africa and University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, respectively.

Dr Mwamtobe is a researcher in disease modelling and has done research in Tuberculosis, Malaria and Lymphatic Filariasis.

He is now working on optimal control of intervention strategies for Lymphatic Filariasis. He is a lecturer in Applied Mathematics.
