This is one of the Departments under Bingu School of Culture and Heritage. Currently the Head of Department is Dr Ignasio Jimu. It is one of the three departments at MUST that are offering non-science programmes. The department seeks to promote indigenous knowledge and the bedrock of African culture and heritage. The belief is that indigenous knowledge is as relevant in our lives today as it was some decades ago. What we probably need to do is to adapt it to suit modern day requirements and demands.
Currently it is offering Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous knowledge Systems and Practices, Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Economy and Bachelor of Arts in Archiving and Records Management
